This is a delightful walk with large areas of native bush and large kauri trees alongside a picturesque stream. There is a stroller/wheelchair circuit over a boardwalk and past the kauri trees. There is access via a fairly flat path to Whangarei Falls.
Public parking is available for the Canopy Walkway for disability access. Toilets available in the car park.
There is a short circuit with wheelchair viewing platforms at the top of the path via an interesting foot bridge over the river and immediately above the falls. The picturesque waterfall is 26.3m high and falls over basalt cliffs. The two viewing platforms above the waterfall give spectacular views of the falls and a birds eye view of the forest below.
Great access for young children traveling in pushchairs.
Good upper body strength can transfer own body weight.
