Otago boasts a rugged diverse countryside of rolling tussock, glacier-fed rivers and wild, unspoilt beaches. It is home to some incredible wildlife, historical sites and produces plenty of award winning wines. Dunedin, the only city, is located along the Otago Harbour and is surrounded by hills that are the remnants of its volcanic history. The city is home to a vibrant student population during the academic year. It is also the last stop for the cruise ships visiting New Zealand.
